Inspire Cafe will be hosting the Small Business Foundation’s next information breakfast, talking about – “Why Profitable Small Business is all that Matters”.
It seems that today we live in a world governed by commercialism rather than service, that everything is about self-gratification instead of waiting until we can afford something, an age of entitlement that’s all about me. Our national debt and personal borrowings are at all time highs and there doesn’t seem to be any prospect of common sense kicking in unless we take an active role in being the change we want to see in the world.
As a small business owner you are one of 2.5 million Australians who have made the commitment to create our economy and not just be a part of it. You are in a group that represents only 1 in 10 Australians and yet you create 47% of the nations GDP. In recent times there has been much speculation that we are in a two speed economy which meant that unless you were in the mining resources sector, you were doing it tough. Today the talk is very much about the mining boom coming to an end and that’s a worry when manufacturing is on the decline and there is very little confidence that anything is being done to grow our economy. Everywhere you turn the high level of youth unemployment and their disillusionment in having a future does not bode well for where we are heading…..
The Small Business Foundation is not a lobby group, a business advice bureau, nor a networking club, it’s founder Trevor Dixon has spent 25 years in small business and these days spends his time facilitating the change that small business owners know will work to create a more prosperous nation.
Ben Walker from Inspire CA, our host for this event explained the concept of the Small Business Foundation after hearing me speak this way…
“The Australian Small Business Foundation is about realising, in a round-about way, that the barber, mechanic, accountant, dentist, cleaner, school can all benefit by helping one another.
- The mechanic can provide a school-leaver an apprenticeship.
- The accountant can train small business owners to know their numbers and provide an ability to grow their numbers.
- The innovation from manufacturers can be recognised and sold globally.
If you appreciate the importance of small business in our economy you must make the effort to register and attend this event.
Yours in Successful Small Businesses…
